This is an important announcement for all Optimist Club of Gettysburg members who shuck, steam, fry, and stew each year to demonstrate their commitment to supporting the Optimist youth of Gettysburg. It is time once again for the Optimist Club of Gettysburg All You Can Eat Oyster and Shrimp Feed. This year’s feed will be held at the Gettysburg Fire Hall on March 8, from noon to 3:00 pm. For members the commitment will begin on Friday evening, March 7, at 6:00 pm with the traditional Membership Preparation Party followed by the featured event on Saturday, March 8. Pre-feed exorcizes begin at 9:00 am on Saturday morning and conclude with a fastidious swabbing of the decks at 5:00 pm. There is no such thing as too much help for this project, so all available hands to the galley!
NOW is the time for members to mark your calendars and contact project chairman, Wayne Hill, to book your reservation as a participating “Friend of Youth”. This project is pivotal to the efforts of our club’s support of more than 19 youth related programs conducted throughout Gettysburg each year and it requires each available member to step-up and get involved.
Please contact Wayne Hill today at firstname.lastname@example.org and confirm your participation or regrets. Tickets are still available for members to sell and supporters to purchase. Tickets for the “All You Can Eat” menu of oysters (raw, steamed, stewed, and fried), steamed shrimp, ham, steak fries, beverages, and desserts for a donation of $35 per person!
