Meeting Minutes – September 4, 2024

The Optimist Club of Gettysburg met on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, 6 PM at 56 Winding Drive, Deatrick Village Community Center, Gettysburg. We had 13 members in attendance and Don Davis and Tom Barako treated us to a dinner enjoyed by all. President Dan opened with the invocation and welcomed all in attendance.

Business Meeting:

    1. Dan & Daryl are co-chairing the wine fest parking (fundraiser). Please keep September 7 & 8 available to help with parking. We will be sending out a sign-up sheet for volunteers.
    2. A special thank you to all Optimists who helped with the Wine Fest Parking fundraiser.  Thank you
    3. Officers for 2024 – 2025: President Wayne, Vice President Joe, Treasurer Brent, Secretary Daryl, Board of Directors Dan, Marci, Bill, Brian. Thank you
    4. Officers’ installation meeting 9/25 at The Mansion House, please RSVP Daryl
    5. Walt spoke on behalf of “Adams County Economic Education Foundation” and the mission to bring Adams County schools, business, and community to support students with knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes to be successful. Through a Senior Self Improvement Program supported by the Dwight D Eisenhower Society a $500 cash award is given to Seniors from the six school districts who show the most improvement. Our club presented a $1,000.00 check to Walt for this event.
